Dentro desse contexto este Artigo trata da energia solar fotovoltaica, abordando seu uso, vantagens, desvantagens e seus componentes. O Brasil não pode deixar de investir nesta área e é de grande importância que estudos feitos nesta direção sejam promovidos e incentivados, mostrando um novo caminho sustentável. Apresentando um estudo hipotético onde a instalação do sistema fotovoltaico e a sua viabilidade técnica e econômica da implementação deste recurso é comparada com o atual consumo de energia elétrica que é um recurso do sistema hidrelétrico, de custo elevado além de causar forte impacto socioambiental. O sistema fotovoltaico reduz de forma significativa o valor da conta de luz, embora mantendo o mesmo conforto e a qualidade da energia elétrica obtida das concessionárias do setor elétrico, e com isso busca-se, através de programas de conscientização incentivando a expansão da microgeração de energia, em especial da geração solar, que é uma evolução no processo de conservação de energia para a sustentabilidade do meio ambiente.
