Por meio de uma pesquisa bibliográfica descritiva, pretende-se mostrar que a reescrita pode auxiliar não só na aquisição de conhecimentos ortográficos como também no desenvolvimento de autonomia e de reflexão crítica por parte do discente a respeito de sua produção textual. A partir das propostas especialmente de Antunes (2010) e de Leite (2007) será analisado o erro ortográfico no contexto de produção textual, bem como os mecanismos que podem levar o docente a uma análise mais justa dos erros ortográficos presentes nos textos de seus alunos, mostrando meios para que esses alunos, através da reescrita, apropriem-se de conhecimentos ortográficos, exercendo papéis de sujeitos agentes de seu próprio processo de aprendizagem. Abstract The present study has the objective to emphasize the importance of rewriting as an instrument of teaching and learning Orthography. Through a descriptive bibliographic research, it intends to show that rewriting can assist not only in the acquisition of orthographic knowledge but also in the development of autonomy and critical thinking by the learners concerning their text production. Through the proposals of Antunes (2010) and of Leite (2007), especially, it will be analyzed the ortographic mistake in the context of text production, as well as the mechanisms that may lead the teacher to a fairer analysis of the orthographic mistakes present in their learners’ texts and show ways that may lead these learners, through rewriting, to acquire orthographic knowledge, playing the role of agent subjects in their own learning process.  UR - https://revista.ugb.edu.br/index.php/episteme/article/view/2662
