GENDER AND TOY: How a World's Most Famous Doll Influences Pattern-Building and Stereotyping
Resumo
O presente trabalho discorre sobre a questão de gênero e sua influência na construção da identidade da criança através dos brinquedos e brincadeiras, sendo de extrema relevância essa temática que é pouco discutida. O artigo inicia-se com uma discussão sobre gênero e seus conceitos e depois descreve como o universo infantil pode ser influenciado pela ideia de consumo e poder causada pelos brinquedos. Foi feita uma pesquisa teórica e a expectativa é comprovar a hipótese de que de fato as brincadeiras e os brinquedos exercem influência nos padrões de gênero.
Abstract
This paper discusses the issue of gender and its influence on the construction of the identity of the child through the toys and games, is extremely important to discuss a topic that is traditionally muted. The article starting with a discussion of gender and its concepts and then describing how the infant universe can be influenced by the idea of consumption and power caused by toys. A theoretical research has been done and the expectation is to prove the hypothesis that in fact the games and toys influence on gender patterns.
