*(DE) PROTECTION?: Analysis of the Social Assistance Policy for the LGBT population in the city of Volta Redonda-RJ

Abstract

Este estudo tem como principal objetivo traçar uma análise qualitativa sobre o acesso da população composta por Lésbicas, Gays, Bissexuais, Travestis e Transexuais- LGBT à Política de Assistência Social no município de Volta Redonda, visto que historicamente o público LGBT é excluído das políticas públicas. Vale ressaltar que no município, esse segmento passível de inúmeras violações de direitos, não acessa os serviços da Política de Assistência Social bem como as suas demandas não são atendidas. A pesquisa justifica-se pela vivência no campo de estágio, no Centro de Referência Especializado de Assistência Social; cuja metodologia utilizada baseou-se além da pesquisa bibliográfica, na aplicação de questionários e entrevistas com profissionais do CRAS e CREAS.

Abstract

This study has as main objective to draw a qualitative analysis on the access of the population composed by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transvestite and Transsexual-LGBT to the Social Assistance Policy in the municipality of Volta Redonda, since historically the LGBT public is excluded from public policies. It is worth noting that in the municipality, this segment that is subject to numerous rights violations, does not access the services of the Social Assistance Policy and their demands are not met. The research is justified by the experience in the field of internship, in the Specialized Reference Center for Social Assistance; Whose methodology was based on bibliographical research, the application of questionnaires and interviews with professionals of CRAS and CREAS.
