PERSPECTIVES FROM HUMAN RESOURCES PROFESSIONALS: Training and development of professionals aged 55+
Abstract
This study aimed to analyze the perception of Human Resources professionals regarding organizational training and development practices, with an emphasis on the inclusion and appreciation of workers aged 55 or older in the labor market. The research employed a quantitative, descriptive, and correlational approach, conducted with 50 professionals from different organizational areas in the Alto Tietê region, in 2023. The results indicated that, although most participants recognize the existence of training and development programs in organizations, there are still gaps between the provision of these actions and the effective access of employees. It was observed that half of the respondents had not participated in recent training or had participated only occasionally. In the older group of professionals, there was less participation in training and a more negative evaluation of the effectiveness of the training, with an NPS of -46. It is concluded that, despite advances in human resource management policies, challenges related to the effectiveness and inclusion of professional development actions remain, especially for older workers. The study reinforces the importance of more inclusive organizational practices that consider age diversity and promote equitable lifelong learning opportunities.
